The Tasmanian Masked Owl (from the Barn Owl family) is the largest Tyto owl in the world. This stunning nocturnal chestnut faced raptor lives in forests of endemic trees and flaps slowly and noiselessly over the landscape in search of prey. It is endangered from habitat loss.
